Breast Center News:6-26-10The Breast Cancer Surgery Center is the first site in Maryland to use the new MammaPrint genetic profile. This test evaluates a woman's individual tumor to determine the chance that it has spread and, therefore, the value of taking chemotherapy. This helps women make the proper informed decision. So far, we are the leading Center in using this new test. |
What's New at the BCSC!06-26-10The BCSC is one of only three sites in Maryland to offer the new HALO breast Pap test! This test has been approved by the FDA for all women aged 25 - 55. We have many women with atypical hyperplasia, a pre-cancerous condition NOT seen on mammogram. These women now are taking a medication that limits their chance of ever developing a cancer. Call our Center for details. |
