Frederick W. Walker, M.D.
     
Dr. Walker graduated with honors in Surgery from
the Ohio State University College of Medicine
and completed his surgical residency at the Johns
Hopkins Hospital. He has over 30 years of
experience in the field of breast surgery. He was
the first to bring many modern treatment options
to our community, including minimally invasive
biopsy, axillary sentinel lymph node sampling,
and nipple aspiration & ductal lavage. He is
a certified Cancer Risk Educator and performs
genetic testing for breast and ovarian cancer.
     
Dr. Walker is an expert in the field of breast
ultrasound and has performed numerous studies.
He has lectured nationally on the subject of
ultrasound breast imaging. Dr. Walker is Certified by
the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of
the American College of Surgeons where he served
as Governor for the State of Maryland. He is a
member of the American Society of Breast
Surgeons. He serves on the Board of Directors of
Bike for Breast Cancer, a National Charity.

Sharon Hunt
     
Sharon is the Breast Cancer Coordinator for the
Breast Cancer Surgery Center. She has many years
of experience in the field of cancer care. She runs
our "Navigator Program", which matches each
newly-diagnosed patient to an age-matched, trained
Navigator who helps with the multiple questions that
always arise, and can offer comfort and support.
Sharon also schedules all surgical procedures and
tries to accommodate our patient's needs as closely
as possible.

Pat Bush
     
Pat is our billing supervisor and insurance specialist. She ensures that your insurance company is treating you fairly and in compliance with the terms of your contract. She is very understanding and works out acceptable payment plans for those in financial need.

Beth and Nancy are our receptionists. Each understands the anxiety inherent with breast
complaints and arranges our schedule to have you seen as soon as possible. Each has been
trained to be aware of the particular needs of the cancer patient and fulfills this assignment with great professionalism and compassion. |
